Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI)- One of the most common interfaces in motion and encoder feedback communications. Data is communicated serially from the encoder to the controller via synchronized exchanges. The controller (SSI Master) produces a Clock pulse which initiates the data exchange. The encoder then transmits its data synchronized with the Clock pulses. The data can be organized in various code formats and bit lengths, however both encoder and controller must be set the same.
