CANopen Interface - This interface is a communication protocol which is very common in embedded systems and automation. The Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol provides the fundamental layers and device profiles used in higher levels of communications such as EtherCAT, PowerLink and others. Devices use Electronic Data Sheet (EDS) files which specify and give details of the Communication Behaviour, Objects and Attributes available from the device. CAN allows for multiple devices to share their data/information on a common media, the bus.
