The new, compact, single turn, CMV/IMV 36S rotary encoders have a completely encapsulated electronics unit. There is no rotating feedthrough. The position information is transferred without contact through a fixed housing wall. It is protected from dust and water, and can be used in applications with changing temperatures (danger of condensation) or for speed monitoring. The maximum achievable protection corresponds to IP69 k; Therefore, this rotary encoder can be used without any environmental related problems in the automotive industry, mobile machine industry and various other outdoor applications.

Absolute position is acquired throughout the full revolution of each turn. Instead of using the installed shaft set, angular position can also be acquired using a magnet on an external shaft - the rotary encoder therefore has no moving parts and is considered “bearing free”. As an alternative to the simple SSI output, a double rotary encoder CDV 36 S is also available (utilizing the same physical installation space) – the position is determined on two different occasion independently and output to two SSI interfaces. For controls requiring an incremental input, the IMV 36 offers the same mechanical and ingress options but with an incremental interface. It is available in a multitude of individual variants on short notice.
