Technical Service Technician
TR Electronic, a world-wide, technologically advanced distributor and manufacturer of quality automated positioning devices and sensors, has an immediate opening for a Technical Service Technician. This role works as a member in the TR Electronic Center of Technical Excellence in London, Ontario.
Working both independently and as a member of the team, the successful incumbent provides outstanding customer support. They will be responsible for processing both new orders as well as repairs, and strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills are required. There will be ownership of projects as assigned by the Technical Product and Service Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the build, modification and testing of customer orders
- Preparation of customer documentation to accompany new and repaired encoders
- Customer contact for purchase order numbers, issuing returned material authorizations
- Wiring harnesses and cables; soldering of surface mount circuit boards, cables, and electrical connections
- Ensuring that ISO9000 quality system standards are being met
- Responsible for Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Housekeeping (5S)
- Exercises initiative in completing recurring assignments independently
Education and Qualifications
- Electronic\Electrical Engineering Technician/Technology diploma, though consideration would be given to those with years of related experience in the Electronics field or with TR Electronic products
- Familiar with various Electrical Tools (ie Oscilloscope, Digital Analyzer, Digital Multi-Meter, Custom Electronic Testers)
- Knowledge of Industrial Communication Protocol, Industrial Ethernet and Fieldbus
- Excellent Computer Skills (Word, Excel) with an understanding of both DOS and Windows O/S
- Solid understanding of/ability to troubleshoot electrical & electronic circuits
- Mechanical aptitude with good hand/eye coordination and dexterity ( for soldering, wiring, etc.)
- PLC experience an asset
