Different Ways of Mounting an Absolute Angular Encoder

Absolute Angular Encoders with Solid Shaft

The fixation of the Absolute angular encoder to the machine can be done by:

  • ■ clamping of the flange
  • ■ direct screwing of the flange
  • ■ screwing of clamping brackets that are fixed to the flange (see picture)
  • ■ screwing of servo clamps that are fixed to the flange

  • (For each of these methods a centering collar with a suitable fit centers the encoder in relation to the shaft)

Absolute Angular Encoder with Hollow Shaft

The fixation of the absolute angular encoder to the machine can be done by:

  • ■ pin/groove axial (also with pin on customer side) with clamping ring (on the front or rear)
  • ■ pin/groove radial with clamping ring (on the front or rear)
  • ■ torque holder with clamping ring (on the front or rear) (see picture)

Absolute Angular Encoder with Blind Shaft

The fixation of the absolute angular encoder to the machine can be done by:

  • ■ pin/groove axial (pin on encoder or customer side) or radial
  • - with lamping ring (see picture)
  • - with axial screw
  • - with V-groove and axial screw

  • ■ pin/groove radial
  • - with clamping ring
  • - with axial screw
  • - with V-groove and axial screw

  • ■ torque holder
  • - with clamping ring
  • - with axial screw
  • - with V-groove and axial screw

Absolute Angular Encoder with Integrated Coupling
  • ■ Coupling with a PUR coupling element that is integrated in the encoder
